Gonca Sönmez completed her undergraduate degree in the Department of Communication and Design at Beykent University, her master’s degree in the Visual Communication and Iconic Research program at FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, and her Proficiency in Art degree in the Graphic Design program at Istanbul Aydın University. Her current academic and practice-based research focuses on motion graphics, semiotics, mythology, and kinetic typography. Between 2020 and 2026, she served in the Department of Graphic Design at Maltepe University. She currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cartoon and Animation at Üsküdar University.
