She was born in İstanbul in 1986. She graduated from Üsküdar American High School in 2004. She graduated from İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and received the title of medical doctor. In 2011, she started her specialty education at İstanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Mental Health and Diseases and became a psychiatrist in 2016. She fulfilled her state service obligation at Diyarbakır Bismil State Hospital. In 2020, she started her doctoral studies on the epidemiology of psychosis at the School of Mental Health and Neuroscience of Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and her doctoral study is still ongoing. In 2021, she started to work as a psychiatrist in the NPISTANBUL AMATEM department (Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment). In 2023, she received the title of associate professor in the field of psychiatry. Continuing to work as an associate professor in the Department of Mental Health and Diseases at Üsküdar University, Dr. Ceylan Ergül continues her research in the fields of addiction and psychosis.
