Born on March 6, 1973, Ayhan Demircan has been serving as the President of the Turkish Opticians and Optometrists Association as of 2026. With decades of experience in the optical industry, he has continued his professional career within the company he co-founded in 2009 while also sharing his expertise with students as an instructor at Üsküdar University.
Demircan completed his education in Opticianry at Üsküdar University, followed by degree programs in Retail Sales and Store Management and Political Science and Public Administration at Anadolu University. He previously served with distinction as President of the Istanbul Chamber of Opticians and Optometrists (Region I) from 2020 to 2026. Since 2018, he has also been appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Türkiye as a Court-Appointed Expert Witness in Opticianry.
A strong advocate for professional development and education, Demircan has participated in numerous opticianry seminars at universities across Türkiye, where he has shared his industry knowledge with future professionals. He has also served on advisory boards at various universities. In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities, he has led numerous impactful social responsibility initiatives, including "Be a Light for the Future" and "Vision Is Everyone's Right," supporting disaster-affected communities, rural schools, and underserved regions such as parts of Africa by improving access to eye care and vision services.
