He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He completed his cardiology specialisation at Istanbul Dr. Siyami Ersek Chest, Heart and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, becoming a cardiology specialist.
After completing his state service obligation, he returned to Dr. Siyami Ersek Chest, Heart and Vascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, where he worked as a cardiologist and training officer between 2016 and 2025.
With over 15 years of experience in interventional cardiology, Dr. Çalık trained at the Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (USA) in 2017 and returned to his country.
Dr Çalık has successfully represented our country for many years on the boards of leading international cardiology associations such as the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (PCR).

In addition to complex coronary interventions, he serves as a proctor (instructor) in the treatment of structural heart and valve diseases; he regularly delivers training sessions at national and international conferences.
He actively serves as an editor and reviewer for prestigious journals such as EuroIntervention, European Heart Journal – Case Reports, The Anatolian Journal of Cardiology, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, JACC: Case Reports, and Open Heart.
In 2020, he received first prize in the ‘Challenging Cases Competition’ at the Cardiovascular Innovations Digital Meeting.
In 2021, he was selected as ‘Reviewer of the Year’ by the European Heart Journal – Case Reports.
