What is Electrical and Electronic Engineering?
Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the branches of engineering which has a great share in providing the technologies that make up the information society. The branches of Electrical and Electronics sciences are branches that directly affect everyday life and are integrated with high technology. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which has a wide range of applications and has a direct link with other fields of science and technology, is the driving force of many innovations and discoveries. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the foundation of the subjects such as control-command, communication, automation, communication, storage and transfer of information, etc. Mobile communication and computation, electronic commerce applications that are widely used today are also the main subjects of these sciences. On another note, the role of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in defense industry and cyber security is an indisputable position.
In recent years, the Electric and Electronics sector has developed steadily throughout the world. Over the last five years, developments in the electrical and electronics fields have doubled in the world and continue to grow in each passing year. Despite the global financial crisis, recent positive developments in this sector are increasing the critical importance of the sector in the economies of the countries. The emergence of new generation access and satellite networks as well as the search for new arrangements to increase the level of competition in the country are some of the major developments in this sector. It is expected that the transition to next generation access networks, that is one of the most important trends in the sector, will have an impact on the competitive dynamics and market structure over the next decade.
The Content of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Undergraduate Program
Today, the importance of electrical and electronics engineering is evident in everything from medicine to communication and from computer technologies to space research. On the other hand, the development, effective use of medical devices, and thus more reliable and successful results with modern diagnostic and treatment methods, require a significant contribution of the electrical and electronic sciences. Automation systems and robots are used in many fields including in healthcare and industry. The hardware bases of these technologies are largely the field of application of electronics.
There is a growing need in our country for engineers who have gained a solid scientific and technical background that will enable them to plan and execute their design development, production, and implementation phases by adapting to rapid technological development in the international electronics sector and following new technological developments. In line with these needs, Üsküdar University Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is aimed to be facilitated in order to educate electrical and electronics engineers and contribute Turkey’s electrical and electronics industry, which is experiencing rapid technological development.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is primarily aimed at establishing a strong infrastructure in mathematics, basic sciences and basic engineering. To be more specific; it is aimed to identify the engineering problems in the field of electrical and electronics and find solutions by thinking analytically in the related disciplines. Apart from these, our students who graduated from our program will be able to effectively use the necessary techniques, equipment and modern communication tools for day-to-day engineering applications and the most obvious advantage of our program is the ability to access the capacity to work in multi-disciplinary areas by exploiting the variety of sections in our department. In addition to all, our crucial vision is to set an example for other departments and universities in the upcoming years by achieving success with the innovative view that we have brought to university education by educating strong and self-confident individuals who can learn life, learn by themselves, and develop their own life philosophy.
The undergraduate program of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is preferred with the score obtained from the examination conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Education period is 8 semesters, Preparatory Class is obligatory, and education language is 100% English. Once the program is complete, graduate program is available.

Planning, projecting and application of transmission line from production point to consumption point,
Projecting, installing and operating electricity generating and consuming facilities,
Designing, manufacturing, operating and conducting maintenance of communication, industrial, control and medical electronic devices and equipment,
Designing, manufacturing, operating and conducting maintenance of digital (microprocessor based) and computer based systems,
Maintenance of electronic equipment systems, operating standards, bulletins, technical instructions, preparation of pictorial diagrams,
Calculating required labor and cost for these jobs,
Consultancy education, management and technical sales.
