What is the Department of Media and Communication? 

The Department of Media and Communication, which is based on an academic and scientific education approach, is in close cooperation with other departments in the Faculty of Communication. It also provides theoretical knowledge and support to other departments that focus on areas of media and communication application.

It is aimed to train academicians, researchers and scientists since the Department of Media and Communication focuses on academic and scientific understanding. With this aspect, it has the function of forming a scientific basis for other departments. On the other hand, it serves as an umbrella in the academic field for all other departments, due to its nature.

Which Courses are Taken in Department of Media and Communication? 

In the first two years of the Department of Media and Communication, which has a four-year undergraduate education, a curriculum is being implemented in order to provide a sound scientific foundation in the whole social sciences as well as communication sciences. Most of these courses are aligned with the first and second year courses of other departments of the faculty.

In the third and fourth years, the students are expected to gain a solid theoretical and methodological formation regarding the details of communication sciences.

As in all departments of the Faculty of Communication, the students of the Department of Media and Communication take elective courses in line with their areas of interest while taking the compulsory courses in the department. The students can choose elective courses from their department as well as elective or compulsory courses of other departments.
