PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION EDUCATION APPLICATION PRINCIPLES

1. At the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 29.12.2022, it was decided to provide pedagogical formation education to students who continue formal education in fields where pedagogical formation education can be received outside of teacher training faculties during the education period ( Click here for the YÖK letter on Pedagogical Formation Education).


2. Participation in pedagogical formation education is optional.


3. The course programs prepared for pedagogical formation education are attached.


4. Applications for pedagogical formation education will be taken online.


5. Course registrations of students in formal education programs who want to take pedagogical formation education will be made in the 3rd semester; It will be made in the 4th semester for the 2022-2023 academic year.


6. Department students who have special conditions to receive Pedagogical Formation Education( studying in departments where they need to take courses specific to their fields in order to become a teacher within the framework ofthe Ministry of National Education, Board of Education and Board of Education Teaching Fields, Assignment and Course Teaching Principles ) will be able to take up to 45 ECTS courses in each semester.


7. Senior students who have or have not taken pedagogical formation courses in previous semesters will be able to receive their diplomas by completing the graduation procedures if they fulfill all the requirements for graduation of the program they are enrolled in.


8. For senior students in the 2022-2023 academic year;
   
   
   1. Registered in departments where pedagogical formation education can be received graduating seniors, If they apply, they will be able to take their courses in the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, including the spring semester, summer teaching and teaching practice course, provided that they start taking the determined courses as electives in the spring semester.
   2. Students who are seniors and take pedagogical formation courses in the spring semester, who fulfill all the requirements for graduation of the program they are enrolled in and who want to receive their diploma, will be able to receive their diplomas by completing the graduation procedures. Students who fulfill all the requirements for graduation of the program they are enrolled in, but who declare in writing that they want to continue taking courses within the scope of pedagogical formation education in accordance with paragraph (a), will be able to continue their education until the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
   3. Senior students will be able to take up to 45 ECTS courses in each semester due to the high course load.


9. The courses taken in pedagogical formation education will be reflected on the student's transcript and included in the General Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA). The successful courses of the students who start pedagogical formation education but then leave the education without completing the education will be indicated on their transcripts. The phrase "Completed pedagogical formation education" will be written on the back of the diplomas of students who have completed pedagogical formation education.


10. In matters not covered in these procedures and principles, the provisions of "Üsküdar University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations" apply.

DETAILS ABOUT PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION TRAINING

• Pedagogical Formation Education courses will be given in Turkish.
• According toÜsküdar University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, Article 16/2 titled "Registration Renewal", the student who requests Pedagogical Formation Education must renew his/her registration after paying the tuition fee determined by taking into account the ECTS course credits within the period specified in the academic calendar at the beginning of each academic year when the normal education period of the program is completed within the scope of this article.
• Only students of the departments specified in the table below can apply for Pedagogical Formation Education.
• Students who want to take Pedagogical Formation Education must fill out the application form below within the course registration period specified in the Academic Calendar and send it to the relevant faculty secretariats by e-mail or hand deliver it in line with the approval received by the advisor.
• The forms approved by the relevant Faculty Administrative Board will be notified to the Student Affairs Department and the course selection process of the students will be processed in the student information system (OBS). Our students will be able to check their course registration on the student information system.
