What is Internship?

Internship is the name given to the period in which a person can learn the profession related to the department he / she is studying, gain professional knowledge, and gain professional experience by working in different departments in the institution he / she wants to work in. University students can do compulsory or voluntary internship within the scope of the department they study.

Üsküdar University Supports Students with Internship Program

Üsküdar University has compulsory and voluntary internship programs. The basic philosophy of the internship is to enable our students to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain experience in business life.

Compulsory summer internship is the internship required for graduation. It can be carried out during the summer semester or between semesters.

Voluntary internships are internships that are carried out during the summer semester or between semesters, depending on the student's choice. It is not compulsory. Our students do their compulsory summer internships and voluntary internships in the institutions they arrange themselves. They receive approval from their internship advisors about the institution they find.

Internship Evaluation Processes at Üsküdar University

For our students who want our University to organize their internship, field practice locations are arranged by the Career Center and faculties as a result of the protocol with state institutions. The determined internship places are announced on our university website. Our students can learn the internship places and dates by entering their T.R. ID numbers. Students do not fill out an acceptance form for field practices. However, after learning the place where they need to go from the website, there may be documents that they need to prepare to be given to the practice place. Students who are involved in the field practice by organizing their own internship must fill out the Internship / Practice Place Acceptance and Notification Form and submit it to the Career Center ten days before the internship starts.

Those who organize their own internship can inform the Career Center on the website

Students who arrange their own internships or who will do summer internships are required to fill out the Internship / Practice Place Acceptance and Notification Form by obtaining it from our website (kariyer.uskudar.edu.tr). The "Internship / Practice Place Acceptance and Notification Form"must be submitted 10 days before the start date of the internship in order to make the SSI entry. Students are obliged to take a photocopy of the relevant submission document. If necessary, the Career Center may request the document from the student. Since the SSI (Social Security Institution) internship insurance entry document may be requested by the institution to be interned, our student is obliged to keep this document with him/her.

Internship Insurance Entries

Our students' internship insurance entries are made and the relevant document is shared to their official school e-mail addresses with st extension. Students who do not have a school e-mail address or have difficulty logging in to e-mail can get support from IT on this issue. Since the SSI insurance file contains private information, it is sent only to the official school e-mail address, which is personalized. In order for the insurance of our students who do internship during their graduate studies, it is obligatory for the relevant faculty to list the information of the students who will do internship in excel format. The list must be sent at least one week before the internship start date.

All students are obliged to notify kariyermerkezi@uskudar.edu.tr before the start of the internship with the reasons for changes and cancellations regarding the internship days. Our students can send any kind of request regarding internship documents or internship from the relevant e-mail address.

Internship Evaluation and Internship Notebook

Our students can obtain their internship notebooks from our Career Center website during the internship period. The points that our students should do are indicated on the internship notebooks. They fill this notebook by writing the daily work they do at the place where they do their internship during the internship and have the relevant person sign it every day. The internship notebook is a document showing that the student continues the relevant internship. In addition, after completion, this notebook will be delivered by the student to the instructor designated as the relevant internship coordinator. The internship coordinator evaluates the internship notebook and grades it.
