The 2025 Ordinary General Assembly meeting of the Haydi Tut Elimi Rehabilitation, Education and Assistance Association, which has been operating under the umbrella of Üsküdar University since 2010, was held. The meeting, chaired by the President of Üsküdar University and President of the Board of Directors of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, focused on the activities carried out throughout the year and potential collaborations for the future.
The meeting took place in the Senate Hall of Üsküdar University Main Campus and was attended by the President of Üsküdar University and President of the Board of Directors of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Vice President responsible for Commissions Prof. İsmail Barış, Secretary General Ayşe Banu Güngenci, Vice President of the Project and Education Commission Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Vice President of Health Activities Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan, Vice President of Social Activities Serpil Tarhan, and other association members.
The meeting was moderated by the Vice President responsible for Commissions, Prof. İsmail Barış.
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “Volunteering and dedication are our core principles”
In the opening speech of the meeting, President of Üsküdar University and President of the Board of Directors of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized the importance of volunteering and dedication in the association’s work. Tarhan stated:
“Social responsibility projects are not merely visible activities. These kinds of efforts are spiritual responsibilities where individuals can transcend themselves and become part of a greater meaning. Sincerely conducted work always finds its way. We have come this far with this understanding, and from now on, we will continue on our path with the same belief, even increasing our pace. Here, volunteering and dedication are our core principles.”
Ayşe Banu Güngenci: “Every child is valuable”
In her presentation, the Secretary General of the Association, Ayşe Banu Güngenci, touched upon the founding purpose and areas of activity of the association. Güngenci said:
“Haydi Tut Elimi Association was established with the aim of supporting children who are victims of neglect, abuse, violence, or who are at risk of conflict with the law. We carry out our activities with the goal of protecting children aged 0 to 18, providing preventive mental health services, and reintegrating them into society. We work to strengthen our social capital by preserving societal values, with the belief that every child is valuable.”
New board of directors elected
During the meeting, the agenda items of the Ordinary General Assembly were discussed, and elections were held. As a result of the voting conducted with the participation of association members, the new boards of directors and auditors were determined. The election process was carried out in accordance with the association’s charter.
The meeting concluded with the sharing of wishes and suggestions, followed by a group photo.
