Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "Eid becomes more meaningful when it builds bridges between hearts"

President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that Eid al-Adha is a step toward approaching the truth: "I wish everyone a blessed Eid. Hopefully, we will celebrate Eid al-Adha in a way that aligns with its true meaning and beauty. Holidays are especially meaningful when they serve as bridges between hearts. The word 'Qurban' in Arabic comes from 'qurbiyyah', which means 'closeness'. Thus, sacrificing an animal holds great meaning in the journey of drawing closer to truth and to the Creator. If a person wants to approach the truth, they must give, they must share. Such acts best serve this sense of closeness. In our belief system, holidays are a means to build bridges between hearts. Another important point is that Eid reminds us of goodness and sharing. Most importantly, we often mention the phrase ‘the old holidays’. Actually, we say this due to the emotional impact of our childhood memories. What makes holidays special are those very memories. Holidays remind us of our childhood. These are the days when the most beautiful memories of our lives are made, which is why they are cherished. When we say ‘old holidays’, what we really refer to is the emotional effect of those childhood memories. That’s why children should be the ones who are made happiest during this holiday. It’s not necessary to buy them expensive gifts, and the best gift is time. The more time we spend with our loved ones, the more in line we are with the true spirit of Eid. And that brings us one step closer to the truth. Once again, I wish everyone a joyful Eid."

Chairman of the Board of Trustees A. Furkan Tarhan: “Wishing you a peaceful Eid filled with joy”

A. Furkan Tarhan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized that Üsküdar University is a big family: "With nearly 2,500 members, we are a large family. I wish a peaceful and joyful Eid to all our friends and colleagues, whether present or not. I hope this holiday brings abundance and blessings to our country, our families, and all of us."

Prof. Nazife Güngör: “May it be a cheerful, pleasant, and peaceful Eid”

Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör shared the excitement of Eid and said: "I wish a happy Eid to all our academic and administrative staff, to all members of the Üsküdar community. May it be a cheerful, pleasant, and peaceful Eid. After the holiday, let’s return to our work together in good health and high spirits. Happy Eid!"
