The Fifth R&D-Oriented Extended Senate Meeting was held

The fifth R&D-Oriented Extended Senate Meeting was held by the Department of R&D and Innovation Policies at Üsküdar University. During the meeting, which was attended by senate members and academicians, various project presentations were delivered. Projects presented in a wide range of fields from history to science attracted great interest.

The meeting was held at the Ibn Sina Auditorium of Üsküdar University NP Health Campus, with attendance by the President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, along with senate members and academicians.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan drew attention to positive psychology-based projects

Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan wished success to the project owners and provided information about the projects carried out in the field of positive psychology. Emphasizing the importance of preventive approaches for disease prevention, Tarhan made the following remarks: “What can be done to keep people from becoming ill? Positive psychotherapy covers areas of treatment and recovery. Primary prevention, secondary prevention, which involves identifying risk groups, and tertiary prevention, which aims to prevent the recurrence of disease, are all important components of the REHAKOR studies. The development of self-safety plans in cases of addiction and suicide attempts can be evaluated within this scope. All these efforts are being conducted through various projects. With the announcement of the ‘Year of the Family,’ our project is also ready to be implemented among those launched across Türkiye.”

Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel gave an R&D briefing

The opening speech of the meeting was delivered by Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel. Starting with an R&D information presentation, Ergüzel shared statistics on the number of projects by researchers. Ergüzel stated that “As of May 15, we have reached 130 publications in the first 135 days of the year. This corresponds to an average of 0.96 publications per day. This is an unprecedented level in the history of our university.”

 

Project presentations were delivered during the meeting

Asst. Prof. Muhammed Fatih Kavak from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Sciences at Üsküdar University, presented his project titled “The Effect of Next Generation Ultrasound Combined with Curcumin and Transauricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Rheumatoid Arthritis.”

Güler Kalay, Deputy Director of the Political Psychology Application and Research Center at Üsküdar University, delivered her presentation titled “The Role of the Crimean Tatar Diaspora in the Peace Process.”

Dr. Emre Uyar from the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine at Üsküdar University, presented his study titled “Agmatine Intervention in Cognitive Impairments Caused by Methotrexate.”

Asst. Prof. Mehmet Kaan İldiz from the Software Engineering Department at Üsküdar University presented a project titled “Crafting.”

Bayram Güneş, Specialist in Funded Projects at Üsküdar University, presented on the topic “R&D Executive Board.”

Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan, Positive Psychology Coordinator at Üsküdar University, introduced projects carried out in the areas of Positive Psychology Club activities and research support, and received feedback and suggestions from Prof. Nevzat Tarhan.

 

Sapling certificates were presented

Following the project presentations, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan presented sapling certificates to the project owners.

The program concluded with a group photo session.
