The brightest of Istanbul competed in Üsküdar
The final exam of the Istanbul Science Olympiad (ISBO), which was organized within the scope of the From Basic Ideas to Basic Sciences Project of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and held for the 9th time this year, was hosted by Üsküdar University.
With this exam, which opens the door to national and international success, students can both gain their knowledge and the finalists from the pre-selection process, to which 66 thousand students applied, competed in categories such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer and Science. Students who successfully passed the first stages took a big step towards participating in ISBO trainings and gaining the right to represent Türkiye in international competitions with the final exam.
Sümeyye Şehitoğlu: "Our goal is to include teachers in this process"
Sümeyye Şehitoğlu from the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education stated that the majority of the students in TÜBİTAK's national teams were trained within the scope of this project. Şehitoğlu stated that "Most of our students who represent Türkiye in international olympiads go through our training. This year, for the first time, the science category was added. Our goal is to involve not only students but also teachers in this process. Our teacher trainings are also continuing."
Olympic success opens the door to the future...
Many students studying within the scope of ISBO are admitted to prestigious universities such as Oxford and Harvard without an exam with the medals they receive.
The project contributes not only to academic success but also to the education of students as individuals with a scientific thinking system.
