Üsküdar University Gifted Children Application and Research Center (ÖYEMER) Director and Advisor to the Rector in Charge of Projects Halide İncekara gave an interview titled "The Value Added by Women to Management Staff 'The Right to Vote and Be Elected'". İncekara, who met with students from different high schools, talked about the power of women and the solid construction of the future.

The event, which was held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus İbni Sina Auditorium, was attended by the leading names of the İstanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and many high school students affiliated with the Istanbul Student Assembly.

The conversation was moderated by Canan Ağyürek from the R&D Unit of the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

Emphasizing the values that Turkish women have added to social and political life in her speech, İncekara gave important messages about the historical struggle of women and their role in contemporary society on the 90th anniversary of Turkish women gaining the right to vote and be elected on December 5.

"It is a social necessity for women to have equal rights"

Emphasizing that young people are not only the power of the future, but also of today, İncekara said that "Dare to intervene in life and make a difference. Today, the representation of women in society and politics may seem inadequate; however, this must change. When men and women act together, we build a stronger society. The fact that women have equal rights is not only an individual gain, but also a social necessity."

"A politics without women means an incomplete politics"

Drawing attention to the roles of women in politics and social fields, Halide İncekara emphasized the importance of equal representation in this field. İncekara stated that "Men and women are complementary to each other. A politics without women means an incomplete politics. Everything that a woman touches becomes beautiful because a woman thinks not only result-oriented, but also human-oriented. Unfortunately, the representation of women in politics is still very low. We have to move from a male-dominated understanding of society to a model of society in which men and women are equally represented."

"The future is in your hands..."

İncekara, who gave advice to young people, said that young people should believe in themselves. İncekara stated that "It is not just about doing a job well, it is about knowing why and how you are doing it. Do not give up on your dreams to make a difference. Act according to your own talents and passions, not according to the expectations of others. The future is in your hands, so act now to shape it in the best possible way."

The interview program continued with the answers to the questions of high school students.

The program ended with the presentation of gifts and a group photo shoot.
