2025-2026 Fall Semester Course Registration Procedures

Course Registration Procedures

For the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, course registration for Graduate, Undergraduate, and Associate Degree students will take place between September 29 – October 12, 2025.

The add/drop period will take place between October 13 – 19, 2025. (Course selections can also be made during this period.)

For first-year students, course registration will be completed automatically. They do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They are only required to log in to the Student Information System and check that their courses have been assigned.

Procedure

1- Students will select the courses they will take this semester via the course selection screen in the Student Information System (OBS).

2- Students will confirm their course registration online and submit it for their advisor’s online approval.

3- Students who wish to consult their advisor regarding course registration may contact them via messaging through the STIX system or by email.

For questions related to course registration procedures, please contact your advisor first.

Student advising procedures will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of our University’s Student Advising Directive.

Important Notes for Undergraduate and Associate Degree Students

  1. Course registration for 1st-year students will be completed automatically. They do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They are only required to log in to the Student Information System (OBS) to check that their courses have been assigned.
  2. Only 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students are required to complete course registration through the Student Information System (OBS).
  3. Students must first register for courses they previously failed or have not yet taken from lower semesters. During registration, the chronological order of lower semesters must be followed. Courses removed from or no longer offered in the curriculum will be replaced by designated alternative courses.
  4. The regular semester course load is 30 ECTS, and the maximum course load is 45 ECTS.
  5. Students cannot take courses that have not been approved by their academic advisors.
  6. With advisor approval, students may retake courses they have previously passed to improve their grade. In such cases, the most recent grade will be valid, regardless of the previous grade.
  7. Students will complete course registration via the Student Information System (OBS) and submit it electronically for advisor approval. Once approved by the advisor through the system, the course registration process will be finalized.
  8. Students whose course registrations are not approved by their advisors will not be allowed to attend classes.
  9. Student status will become active on e-Government (e-Devlet) only after advisor approval of course registration.
  10. Students who wish to consult their advisors regarding course registration may contact them via the STIX messaging system or through their email addresses.
  11. 1st-year students are not allowed to take courses from upper semesters.
  12. Double Major and Minor students may complete their major course registration first and then select their double major or minor program courses through the Student Information System (OBS).
  13. Students who have successfully completed all courses from previous semesters and have a GPA of 3.00 or above may, starting from the third semester, take one course from an upper year with advisor approval. Students with a GPA of 3.50 or above may take up to two courses from an upper year.
  14. Students who have completed the 2nd year of Associate Degree programs or the 4th year of Undergraduate programs but still have outstanding courses will complete course registration through the course registration form submitted to the Registrar’s Office.
  15. Undergraduate students whose GPA falls below 1.80 will be placed on probationary status. At the end of the 4th semester, students who are still on probation can only take a limited number of courses until they return to good standing:
  • With a GPA of 1.60–1.69, a maximum of 2 courses.
  • With a GPA of 1.70–1.79, a maximum of 3 courses.

TURK113 Turkish Language I (Instructor Selçuk Duman –Medium of Instruction: Turkish, content adjusted according to students’ level)

ATA113 Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolutions I (Instructor Selçuk Duman – Medium of Instruction: English, content adjusted according to students’ level)

International students who wish to take the Turkish Language and Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolutions courses in Turkish via Distance Education may apply to their academic advisor or the respective course instructor to request a course change.

Important Notes for Graduate Students

  • Students in the scientific preparation stage are required to select the scientific preparation courses listed in the curriculum.
  • The semester course load for students in the course stage is 30 ECTS.
  • Students in the thesis stage must register for the Thesis course. (Students in their 5th and 6th semesters may extend their studies by paying an extension fee to the Financial Affairs Office and completing their course registration.)
  • Students cannot take courses that have not been approved by their academic advisors.
  • Course registration must be completed via the Student Information System (OBS) and submitted electronically for advisor approval. Once the advisor approves through the system, the course registration process will be finalized.

  3. For 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year Medical Faculty students, course registration will take place between September 15–28, 2025, and the add/drop period will be between September 29 – October 5, 2025. (Course selections may also be made during this period.)
  4. For 5th-year Medical Faculty students, course registration will take place between September 8–21, 2025, and the add/drop period will be between September 22 – October 5, 2025. (Course selections may also be made during this period.)
  5. For 6th-year Medical Faculty students, course registration will take place between September 1–14, 2025.

Important Notes for Dentistry Faculty Students

  1. Course registration for 1st-year students will be completed automatically. They do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They are only required to log in to the Student Information System (OBS) to check that their courses have been assigned.
  2. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students are required to complete course registration through the Student Information System (OBS).
  3. For 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year Dentistry Faculty students, course registration will take place between September 15–28, 2025. The add/drop period will be between September 29 – October 5, 2025. (Course selections may also be made during this period.)
  4. For 4th and 5th-year Dentistry Faculty students, course registration will take place between September 1–14, 2025. The add/drop period will be between September 15–21, 2025. (Course selections may also be made during this period.)
