Everything You Need to Know About the DGS (Vertical Transfer Examination)

Students who have graduated from Vocational Schools of Higher Education or Open Education Associate Degree programs, as well as students who are in their final year and have fulfilled all graduation requirements except for their internship, may become eligible to continue their education in undergraduate programs by taking the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), administered by ÖSYM (the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center).

For students who earn the right to begin undergraduate education, the courses they completed during their associate degree education that are deemed equivalent by the university are granted exemptions. The courses they are required to take in the undergraduate program are then determined by taking their previously earned credits into consideration. Students are enrolled in the relevant program based on the courses they are required to complete and are then permitted to continue their education.

Vertical transfer procedures are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the relevant regulation concerning the continuation of undergraduate education by graduates of vocational schools of higher education and Open Education associate degree programs.

Students who are admitted to programs at Üsküdar University through the DGS with a 50% tuition discount provided by ÖSYM and enroll at the university are eligible for an additional 20% discount if they are graduates of Üsküdar University’s VSHS (Vocational School of Health Services).
