Dr. Z. Onur ÇALIŞKANER was born in 1987 in Istanbul. In 2009, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Science, Department of Biology and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (Double Major) at the same time. After completing his Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics in Gebze Technical University in 2013, he received his PhD in 2018 from the same department.
During his graduate studies (2011-2018), he worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in Gebze Technical University. After working as a Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry in Istanbul Okan University during the Spring Semester of 2018-2019 academic year, he worked as a Specialist at Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) for a while in 2019.
Z. Onur ÇALIŞKANER, who participates in national projects, continues his scientific studies in cancer and cell biology, gene expression and analysis, hematopoietic cells, mutation analysis, gene transfer to cells, molecular cloning and bioinformatics and has several SCI journal articles and national/international conference proceedings. He received the Proceeding Award Congress in the category of Experimental Hematology for his oral presentation in the 43th National Hematology and was awarded with the Young Researcher Award presented by the Turkish Hematology Association (THD) annually. Currently, he has aimed to conduct scientific studies in the fields of mesenchymal stem cells and drug delivery systems.
