Faruk Metin Atasoy, after graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics and Finance, completed his doctorate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. He began to work in Manajans which was the Turkey's oldest and largest advertising agency of the period. He became the first general manager of the company in 1980. Later, he founded Birikim with a partner of the French FCA Group. He served national and international institutions and brands in many fields, including political parties. As the chairman of The Turkish Association of the Advertising Agencies (RD) he implemented brand conferences with the chambers of industry and trade called "A country is as rich as the brands it owns" between 2000-2001 in order to motivate branding, the export of branded goods, as well as the brand: Turkey. He is still working in the field of marketing and marketing communications consulting. In addition, he is Turkey representative of some foreign organizations which is related with sector. Atasoy has held positions as an assembly member and the head of the Advertising Profession Committee of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), ITO Arbitrator, one of the founders of the Self Regulatory Body and the Advertising Foundation, one of the three members of the Turkish National Commission on Marketing and Advertising of the International Chamber of Commerce, president of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Turkey chapter, and up until 2014, he served 14 years as a world board member of IAA Global. He is one of the honorary members at RD. Atasoy has received the “Medal of Merit” at the 2010 World Advertising Congress in Moscow, the "On the Peak of Communication - Trace Award" by RD in 2013 as “One of the Pioneering Names in Creating Brands and Political Communications in Turkey". He taught “Integrated Marketing Communication” at Kültür University.
