Assoc. Prof. Azime KARAKOÇ KUMSAR was born in 1977 in Istanbul. In 1999, Marmara University. She completed her undergraduate education at the School of Nursing, her master's degree in 2002 with her thesis titled "The Effect of Nursing Services on the Satisfaction of Hemodialysis Patients" in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing, Institute of Health Sciences, and her doctorate in 2012 with her thesis titled "The Effectiveness of Nurse Counseling in Controlling the Basic Components of Metabolic Syndrome in Women with Metabolic Syndrome" at the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing, Institute of Health Sciences, Marmara University. She has completed her education.
Between 1999 and 2022, she worked as a service nurse and Diabetes Education Nurse at Kadıköy Acıbadem Hospital. Between 2002 and 2008, she worked as a Clinical Educator at Koç University School of Health, between 2008 and 2010 as an instructor at Maltepe University School of Nursing, and between 2012 and 2014 as an Assistant Professor at Bezmialem Vakıf University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. Between 2014 and 2023, she worked as an instructor at Biruni University SABIF Nursing Department; she is the founding chair of the department. In 2024, she received the title of associate professor in the field of Internal Diseases Nursing.
She has many international and national publications on topics compatible with her field such as obesity and metabolic diseases, diabetes, thyroid disorders, healthy lifestyle behaviors and health promotion, quality of life in chronic diseases.
